Cheap Homeowners Insurance in FL, TX & TN (HO1, HO2, HO3, HO5, HO8)

Don’t forget that water damage is one of the biggest insurance claims. Plumbing-related water damage accounts for 27% of homeowner claims filed each year. However, HOB provides additional perils as water damage protection that an HO3 does not provide.

If you have a mortgage on your property, your lender will require you to have insurance until the loan is paid off, as part of the loan agreement.

If you own your home, you should consider one of the following policies – HO1, HO2, HO3, HO5, and HO8. Types of Property Insurance Policies

There are eight different types of homeowners insurance, each with their own specific coverage types.

HO1 is a basic property insurance policy with a limited amount of coverage. It protects your home from fire, windstorms, hail, or lightning.

The HO2 policy includes all damage covered by HO-1 as well as damages sustained from falling objects and water damage.

HO3 protects against sixteen of the most common perils. The policy will also cover personal belongings in the home. Some of the perils may be excluded such as earthquakes, floods, or nuclear accidents. Please make sure to check with our agency to find out which specific events are covered under your policy.

Renters Insurance (HO4) covers property in a rented home or apartment. It covers any damaged or stolen personal belongings as most insurance plans held by landlords won’t cover personal property losses. Please note that HO-4 does not cover damage to the property itself.

HO5 policy includes all damage covered by HO3, but HO5 is the most comprehensive homeowners insurance policy available. HO-5 covers personal property from just about any incident that could occur except for those that are specifically excluded.

HO6 policies are designed for owners of condos and tenants who live in co-ops. HO-6 policy generally covers the wall, ceiling, and floor of the residence as well. The HO6 policy is for condominiums, apartments, townhouses, or townhomes.

The HO7 is similar to the HO3 policy but is specifically designed for mobile homes, modular homes, park models, some manufactured homes, trailers, or tiny homes.

HO8 policies are designed for old homes and are reserved for landmarks or historically significant places. Homes that are older than 40 years old may be covered under this policy.
